Life Skills in the kitchen

The Problem

Individuals with dual diagnosis may suffer from a variety of conditions such as paranoia, depression, psychosis anxiety, aggression and self destructive behavior. Coping with serious mental illness leaves many individuals with depleted self-esteem, and a feeling of little or no control of their lives.

Goals

Confidence to take risks and replacing self defeating behaviors with winning achievements is expected of Life Skills graduates. Upon graduation, individuals may transition to a structured day program, community integration, or employment. A key outcome is to break the cycle of failure and prevent more restrictive programming.
