Direct Care Staff

Hello, my name is Isamar and I’ve been working for the Life Skills Program for about a little over a year now. I graduated High School in ‘08 and I went to college for medical assistance. Then I worked at a family practice office for a while, then I was working at retirement homes over night. Once I became a mom, I decided to get myself a day job and that’s when I started working for a program for adults with disabilities out in the community, then I got a job with Life Skills Program where we focus on trying to teach consumers on how to be independent and help achieve their goals.

The reason I love this field is because I have a godson who is paralyzed and has spina bifida and I loved to help him achieve his goals and work on activities with him at home and in all his needs, it always made me feel so happy to see his smile when we would achieve a goal he had been working on. I stopped working for him once he started school but I still see him often and on my free time I love to spend time with and go on walks and my daughter enjoys to push his wheelchair. In my free time I also love spending time with my family and going out on trips and to the dog park with my dogs, and I also spend time at home with all my family and BBQ’s and get in our pool.
